So i have this board and its my first Gigabyte mobo. The bios is a litle different than the asus boards i always have bought earlyer. So im going to ask a bit of advice from others who knows gigabyte boards. When i recieve my 3770k i will oc it but i want to oc it on the turbo and with an cpu offset voltage. The picture underneath shows a dynamic vcore so im guessing this is what asus call cpu offset voltage? if i set the turbo on all cores to 48 and it shows a vcore 1.145 should i set the offset/DVID to +0,155 if i think the vcore will be some place at 1.3vcore when all cores goes up to 4,8ghz?

you can chose. Reason i want to oc with turbo is less heat in idle and small tasks

and here lies the reason we dont just say do this and that and ur done with these types of threads. Oc'n without knowing what does what can lead to disaster. I'd suggest you first start with understanding the bios first and read all you can about the changes. I doubt anyone here is just gonna give you a magic formula that will instantly oc your rig. Thats not how you learn to oc. Plus there is a saying amoung OC'rs ymmv which means your milage may vary. Every board and cpu combo is different and one cannot expect the same results with others setting.

As Im new to sandy, ivy i want to know if i oc by changin multi do i have to disable turbo core ? or set multi then adjust voltage and dun worry about turbo thats it

thats how most do it. I turn off turbo and oc the power draw is neglable imho you need to turn off a few things as well to help keep it stable and also adjust the loadline to keep it stable

heres what i do

disable

Turbo

CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E)

C3/C6 state support

CPU Thermal Threshold (prolly not important to disable I did it when i was shooting for max oc and pushing 1.6 vcore)

CPU EIST

Multi Step Load Line I set to 5 or 6 this is vdroop the higher ya set it the more it adds/subtracts

now I'm on the Z68 UD4 using legacy bios what it says in UEFI I'm not certain

the gb z77 boards have a new bios and not many people know it well yet tbh.

oc.net has a thread on them and that would be my first place to read as i imagine most easy issues will be covered in there.

you can become our gb z77 guru mate
