Gigabyte Tease their GTX 1080 Xtreme

Haha, seems like this thread has gone off topic and is more on a topic of EVGA and other brands GPU's rather than on Gigabyte's new GPU :p

What I didn't like about EVGA's 980Ti ACX or whatever it's called, is that they had implemented this weird, "control" thing with the fans. That when they had been off, and then the card heated up, they would go full 100% before going down again and slowly increasing with the heat.

EVGA themselves told me that this was something built in with the card and couldn't be disabled or not and it was annoying the hell out of me...

But with Gigabyte, I actually liked their 980Ti card, the aesthetics and the card in general.
Only downside in my eyes, were the coil whine on it to be honest. IF that wouldn't had been so much of it, I'd have stuck with that card.

If i had to go Nvidia, the EVGA and MSI would be my top go to brands. Wouldn't even bother to look at anything else. Unless something special came out that was genuinely epic. A lot of people like Asus cards, but seeing how they tend to screw up AMD cards, doesn't make me confident in there Nvidia cards either. Nothing against them or anything, there midrange/low end cards are great in my experience. It's there higher end cards that review poorly(for AMD) which would put me off

It's all about the warranty although I think msi also do not void your warranty if a waterblock is installed as last gen they allowed me to return a pair of 970's that had bad coil whine even though they were under water.

I wonder if coil whine whire will be an issue on this gen especially with such high core clocks
