Awesome sauce! Now all we need are some tasty chips to go with this steak, wink wink AMD maybe give (slip) us some of those details ;) I'm genuinely excited for 2016 to see what team red can bring to the table.

I wouldn't have expected any of the motherboard manafacturers to release another AM3+ board at this time. :p

I guess Gigabyte must still see value in high-end AM3+ boards.

Nice board too.

There's far more to AM3+ CPUs than meets the eye. Most namely, they have all of the instructions needed to run Virtual Machines without needing to run a locked I7 (K series usually have it all disabled).

The Core I3 6100, even unlocked, still can't catch the 8320 @ 4/6ghz in heavily threaded apps.

Whether or not that makes it worth doing now? no idea really. I guess they are still seeing sales or they wouldn't bother. Only problem is if the I3 6100 really is unlocked (and it's looking more and more likely) then many will choose it for the better gaming performance.

Mind you, if the market for AM3+ is in Vmware and so on then that won't touch sales any way.

Yeah Intel can be stingy about enabling certain instruction sets on their lower end stuff, add that to them not being overclockable at all either.

Meanwhile, AMD typically have all the instruction sets enabled even on their lowest end stuff and most of their APUs, or standalone CPUs are totally unlocked.

Well with AM4 coming out very soon this board could just be using a new design and features and they want to see how people react to it for the newer boards they probably plan on releasing next quarter:)

I was looking for a new motherboard, and this one seems to be ideal, but i'm worried that it's not compatible with my RAM (4x4GB 2400MHz)
The model of my Ram is not in the QVL.
Is there any way to check compatibility before buying it?

If you have standard DDR3 RAM it will fit and run in the board, but I'm not sure if it'd reach 2400MHz due to lack of XMP. You'll have to do manual overclocking and I honestly don't really know how (well) that works on the AMD platform.

Maybe someone else can help you with that if you create a thread here :)
