Update!
Greetings fellow forum'ers
Wow well, firstly I'm sorry I have not updated you sooner, life has a way of keeping you busy when it wants to! I received this awesome piece of graphics card a little while ago, but was slightly embarrassed to find I can't quite fit it in yet! (more on that later)
Anyway then I had to go away for a while with family so now I'm back I can finally upload the photos for you all! (after an encouraging email from TTL as well lol)
Firstly my current very dated, but still much-loved rig: IP35 Pro, Q6600, 8GB of OCZ Platinum Ram, Radeon HD 6850 and an Auzentech X-Fi Prelude. A couple of SSD's as well.
It's not the powerhouse I know some of you have, but she's still my baby.
Those of you with a keen eye may spot the issue I have here...
And of course, the box that arrived from the kind and generous TTL!
And of course obligatory pictures of the back of the box
And inside of the sleeve we find more tease!
Here shined a shiny daemon!
(under the card (prosperity shot))
And the bit you've all been waiting for, just take a look at this beast!!
The cooler is actually beautiful, so clean! and shiny, I attempted to take a photo of the heatpipes, there are so many! I couldn't wait to try this bad boy out!
More photos of this amazing looking card:
From the left!
From the right!
And waiting to get put in place
So on to the embarrassing part: It doesn't quite fit!!:huh::huh:
The two tubes coming from my cpu cooler don't give me enough clearance to get this back in, and as yet, I haven't had a chance to get this sorted out. I don't have any spare cpu, cooling, gunk stuff *sigh*. But with needing to go away I had no time to get some sorted out. However, I'm back again for a few weeks and intend to try my best to source some. Why haven't I just moved the cooler? It was a bit of a pig to get in there in the first place to tell you the truth and I just have not had the time to sit down and resolve the problem unfortunately. But believe you me! I will!!
Anyway I have to of course thank Tiny Tom Logan, for this amazing competition in the first place. I could not believe my eyes when I received that message. I was completely lost for words, and that doesn't happen often, let me tell you!
Thanks of course to Gigabyte for this crackin' lookin' Windforce card, I cannot wait to get it up and running properly.
I just hope it's not wasted on my set up. If it's not great I'll have to start budgeting something together to really get the most out of it, but that is all in due course (If I had the money for that right now I'd certainly have already done it)
Thanks guys! You rock! Don't ever be put off by thinking "I never win anything" apparently luck smiles on us all one day
Ant.
