Gigabyte GTX780 Treasure Hunt

As most of the people who have actually found it have said - once they took the clues on board and thought about it, they found it within like 2 hours. It sounds difficult until you find it ;)

This - I'd gone through far too many pages for my own good looking to no avail (I blame waiting on starting my new job so had too much free time) and had no luck at all. Sat back a while, thought it through a bit from the side of Gigabyte, changed my search pattern and through a stroke of luck in my thought process found it fairly quickly.

If you think of it as TTL hiding it for the lulz then you won't find it, even if he has set it up like this for a few laughs at people raging. If you think of it like "where is TTL most likely going to hide this sort of thing" then it can shave a LOT of time off the search.

I reckon his cheeky smile on the initial YT video when he was about to give the first hint and then stopped himself, told me it wasn't going to be easy.

Just one question is it the same size or is it a tiny little image?

I can't believe I am doing this competition as I haven't entered one in a long time. The search makes it kinda of annoying but irresistible. Giving it an hour before rage quitting. ^_^

It's around the same size as the picture on the competition page. You won't miss it if you find the right page!

Just when I thought I might have got it all wrong and giving up.... it shows up!! Treasure hunt is all about interpreting information/clues and hard work finding it. :thumb: TTL

Good luck to those entered and got it right! We'll know who's the really lucky one early next week! :)

Woot ! I finally found it after almost giving up. Now I have a problem trying to determine what is necessary to submit for the entry.
Can I get some clarification here?

Still looking. BTW can anyone write a guide on overclocking my visual cortex?

You'll first need to up the voltage (more caffeine!)

Then you just have to decide on:

air cooling (looking away from screen every 50 pages or so) or

water cooling (have pizza with reach at all times) or

LN2 cooling (have a selection of foods at hand at all times and some nice tunes playing)

But don't blame me if you fry your cortex :-P

I watched the video again and got the confusion resolved. I just don't understand why there are so many incorrect entries.:o

Anyways, good luck to all, just want to say I've been lurking for quite some time and this finally got me to subscribe to the channel and register here on the forums.

Thanks Tom and the OC3D team for putting together such a top notch hub of information.

I have searched for hours and hours. I saw the "hint" on the wan show, on one of FB. but that didnt help enough apparently. I"ve still searched for hours. Some folks are lucky, some are not I guess. Feed my kids... or new video card for the replacement rig I was hoping to build... :(

Gigabyte posted a link to this on their facebook this morning and everyone who replied is complaining about how its not worth it and its a waste of time. lol. If only they knew what we know.

Put on your thinking hat, look at the tips, slowly digest every single word, and off to find it. It's not easy but that's what it is - a treasure hunt! :)

Edit: Anyone who think it's not worth it, then go away and not entering. Easy. It's pointless and really "not worth it and a waste of time" to moan about.

While I can empathize with people thinking its a waste of time, but I actually appreciate the fact that its limited to those who are willing to look.
You actually get a sense that you have a chance at winning!

I must have spent 8+hours searching for the damn pic and was about to quit, but eventually found it. What kept me going was thinking the only time actually wasted was the 8 hours if I quit.

The picture is there and you will facepalm yourself when the location is revealed and you don't find it.

Again, GL to all.

I don't really need the graphics card, but this is driving me mad. I don't remember a single clue and I really can't watch through all of TTLs feature length videos in hopes of stumbling upon one, so I even thought about writing a crawler but I scratched the idea later on. I firmly believe that TTL hid the picture somewhere right up our faces and when the contest is over he will bit-h slap us and have a firm laugh ;)
