gigabyte gtx580 soc OR msi lighting xtreme ?

hi i want to buy a new graphics card to update my old one gtx 460 i like the gtx 580 ive see 2 that i like gigabyte gtx580 soc or the msi lighting xtreme but i cant make up my mine which one to get please can u guys help me out

Why do you want to upgrade? The 460 not enough for what you are playing? What kind of budget do you have in mind? What PSU is in your system?

i have a i7 2600k and it great it run crysis good but i just want a bit more on the graphics side i have £500 to spend i like the gtx580s i have watch lots of vids on them both but i just cant make up my mind of which on to get

If you have the money to burn and the PSU to run it, I'd go for the Lightning. Both are great cards so either way it will be a decent upgrade. I think more than anything it comes down to personal preference and how much you want to spend.

Lightning 580 is probably the best one, Twin Frozr II is also good, but price difference isn't much.

There is a good vid on the OC3D channel for the MSI card.

I guess it all depends on what you want from the GTX580.

The MSI Lighting really seems to love being thrashed to death with overclocking.

Have you thought about (or seen) the Asus DirectCUII version ? not cheap at £400 ish. That is the one im looking to get my hands on. It fits in real nice, not as bonkers as the Lighting, and better than the oem cards.
