Getting another PC together. Opinions need!

Hey Guys! It's Yamanjazz here with another "What shall i get" thread

Long story short, I built i nice rig a while back thank to you guys here.

The Specs are:

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz

ASUS Sabertooth Intel P67

8GB Mushkin Ridgeback (2x4GB) DDR3 1866MHz

GTX 460 x 2

OCZ SSD

850W Corsair AX Series Modular ATX2.3 SLI/Crossfire

Corsair 600T White Graphite Midi Chassis

Noctua NH-C12P SE14 CPU Cooler

Samsung SH-B123L/RSBP

Asus Xonar DX Low Profile 7.1 PCI-Express Sound Card

Im building yet another one now. Im happy with alot of the part so ill get some of them for this new rig. Case, PSU, Sound card, SSD. But i was wondering is it worth me going for the Z77 instead of the P67 Sabertooth? I cant find any good sources that explain what id be getting if i go for the Z77. This time round im gonna try out the H100 for cpu cooling. I liked how it looked and performed in some of TTL's vids on youtube. Not sure what to do about GPU. I cant spend that much to buy a gtx680. So id be open for advice on that too. Ram wise i want to use Corsair Vengeance (Gold or Black). So the main thing is IB or SB. Please let me know what you guys think in the comments bellow. Why are you building another one if I may ask? Are you building it to replace your current rig? Cuz there's nothing wrong with it..

As Ivy's only a week and a half away I'd wait for that. In fact, I am waiting for it.

GPU-wise it depends on how much you are willing to spend. You say the GTX680 is too expensive.. then what about the 7870?

Z77 has stuff like SATA6 and USB3 built-in. It also features PCIe 3.0, but for that you will need an Ivy Bridge chip. I'd just go with Z77 mate.

Sata 3 (6gb) and USB3 is a CPU feature. Ivy bridge CPUs for the z68 will have it built in as well.

This is not a replacement its another PC for our home. No i dont want a laptop to take with me around the house. I love having a nice looking PC sitting on my table(never under btw). Desktops FTW. I was think more like a MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti OC Twin FrozR II 1024MB.

As this is just going to be another pc in the house is there really any need to spend all this money on it? Why dont you just upgrade what you have and with the money you save from not having to build a whole new pc you could get a GTX 680, Just my input

The GTX 480 is not a better card then the GTX 560 Ti mate.

The only thing that is better on the 560ti is the power and thermals other than that they GTX 480 is better in nearly all test's apart from maybe 5.

It performs better, I agree. But the 560 Ti use much less power and runs a lot more quiet and cooled compared to the 480. And unless you are going to play at the highest resolutions it should have no problem with eating everything you throw at it. The GTX 560 Ti also overclocks quite nice. And as you said the 480 is also more expensive.

depends on what you want it for??

if its another gaming rig then get the best for your budget.

if its gonna be a bencher then buy top quality stuff.

if its going to be just another comp to use when the other is in use then look at ttl's post on budget builds

an i3 is an exellent processor for just a run of the mill PC

Thanks for all the great input, yes its another computer but not "just another". I still need to do the things i want to do. Im Looking into the 480 seems like a good alt for power. I tend to build my Rigs with a bit of overkill in the performance vs need department. I have been doing so since i was in my early teens. I can tell you i have saved quite a bit in the long run. If you find the perfect time(which is either by knowing the market very well or just by chance in timing) you can get a PC to last you for a good couple of years.
