Geforce 9800GT has Two 6-pin Power Connectors

Dual-slot FTW! even though all the cards I have are single slot lol. Should be able to squeeze a good OC out of it, but I dunno really- seems like the 9-series isnt worth it if you've got a decent 8-series card already.

Had a look at hp pc at work, which supposidely has got the 9800GT, took gpu-z shot, but tbh the cooler inside is exactly the same as 9600GT or 8800GT one

edit: btw im not too sure this might be just the oem sorta stuff which differs from retail, but that card had only one 6-pin power connection

Bah, dual socket ftl :(

If the tech needs it, then fair enough. But 1 thing I liked about the 8800GT was it`s single-slotted-ness. Such power for a single card.

(any issues aside of course)

I never had extreme heat issues myself. Every1 tended to tell me the issues I had were heat. Then nVidia came out with the 9 series drivers.. that fixed my issues ?!?!? hehe Although the memory cooling is pretty poor, and doesn`t seem to get better looking at sneaked 9800GT picks.

Meh, needs as needs must. Don`t know myself where the extra power for the 9800GTX goes, so why should the 9800GT be any different lol.

.. c`mon release em :p

I must be the only person in the world not to have issues with the 8800GT and heat. Mine runs well cool really.

I have the fan all the way down silent at 20% for all use apart from 3D gaming as temps would rocket then. When I'm gaming I up the fan to 60% and temps linger around the 55 - 60 degree mark. Can't hear it over all the guns.

I love dual slot coolers and single slots are a little useless.

Much rather see a GPU temp in the 30s and 40s.

Well as long as it helps with OC'ing etc etc dual slot and 2 power connectors aint that bad really!!

I always was under the impression that the 2 6pins on 9800GTX were mainly for tri-sli use??

Idk lol was always my own speculation :D
