Geforce 350.12 WHQL Driver Released

True but at least Nvidia release game ready drivers with SLI profiles at a steady rate.

AMD still hasn't got proper Crossfire profiles out for Far Cry 4, Dying Light and many others.

One of the reasons I got rid of my 295X2, Brilliant piece of tech but AMD take forever with game ready drivers and Crossfire profiles :(

They have those profiles. Not that profiles matter tbh. Dying light driver is currently disabled though because they are working with the devs to figure out why some issues are occuring on both ends. With or without it you can still play the game with Xfire. Just can't force settings through the CCC. So to me it's not really a big deal. I never use CCC anyway. Just install because it installs the drivers

Profiles do matter, If the profile is absent in the driver then the game will not use the hardware to it's fullest and can lead to instabilities, Likewise if the profile is crappy i.e AMD's Dying Light profile.

My 295X2 only ever worked on 1 GPU in Dying Light and many other games but they were happily running on my mates 980 SLI rig with both GPU's fully utilized, And after a few months of AMD just not bringing out Crossfire profiles I couldn't be bothered anymore.

IF AMD were more consistent with their updates I wouldn't mind but they aren't.

Hell they haven't had a proper driver out since their Omega pack, Their latest one only introduces Freesync, Sad state of affairs for that company.

Hopefully they pick back up though as I have high hopes and my heart set on getting the 390X or their next top single GPU card aswell as the Asus 144Hz IPS Freesync monitor.

The last one, released *for* Hardline caused Hardline to crash all the time, had to revert to the previous version - so not super excited for this one to be honest.

As i said earlier.. both companies are working on a fix which was why it was disabled. Which they have done in the newest beta driver you posted. Issue was reduced but you only need to turn AA off to avoid it. Considering that was a month ago that's some good progress considering as well the other things they worked on.. especially making sure GTA V driver was available at launch.

AMD do release beta drivers often. Just as much as Nvidia. It's just recently the past few months they have been slower but before that it wasn't much different. Hell i hardly ever update my drivers that often anyway.. to much work. I tend to stick with the official ones and wait few months. But that's just me

Any game with gameworks (such as Dying Light) will have issues with crossfire for a long time. It can be partially attributed due to the whole issue with AMD not being allowed access to the source files/whatever.

Look at games that don't use gpu specific tech/use both sides tech and see how quickly it took for them to make a crossfire profile for it. Hopefully GTA is the beginning of a change to games using both card techs.

Well from my personal experience AMD tend to blow chunks when it comes to releasing crossfire profiles often compared to Nvidia, Again just from personal experience.
