Gears of War 4's May update will add Multi-GPU support to the game

Better late than never, but another show of disregard, IMO.

I'd buy this if it wasn't so expensive.

A bit late or?? Who plays gears of war 4

Better late than never. TBH this is probably the best made UWP game to date and the best case that MS has made for the Windows 10 Store's gaming presence so far.

I wouldn't call this a "show of disregard", they didn't need to release this update and it must be remembered that this time last year that UWP games did not support unlocked framerates, nevermind multi-GPU.

I think this is actually the first UWP game to support Multi-GPU, which is huge progress. A sure sign that MS is taking things much more seriously than they were previously when it comes to PC.

They've also released a dual GPU update for Forza haven't they?

The key to multi GPU is day one. Who wants to pay £50 for a game that doesn't work only to find it's worth half that months later?

Some games don't matter because they're single player so you can afford to wait. Some are online and time sensitive (who wants to play a game alone when their mates have all completed it?) So need support on day one.

I'm not going to pat a company on the back for coding in multi GPU support many months after the launch on a £50 game, sorry.

Well there is nothing wrong with the GPU scaling.

So when you pick up a game later down the line, i.e. in a sale you'd rather not have better framerate because they didn't do it at launch? It's a bit of a jaded outlook in my opinion. This is a UE4 game remember, it's not their engine. I'm surprised they even went to the effort to support multi-GPU. I am aware that UE4 now supports some level of multi-GPU support but this happened after this game shipped.

Almost exactly double.. interesting results. Presumably this is using DX12, I wonder if that has had any positive impact on the scaling.

Honestly I like Gears Of War but I am not buying it on the pc.

I will get it on the pc though if I decide to buy it on the Xbox, like with Forza Horizon 3 which I got the other day on the Xbox and whilst I have installed it on the pc I am yet to touch it.

I do think that Multi GPU should be in a game at launch even though I do understand that those using 2 GPU's is a small percentage of users, but I really do think that it should be supported at launch or at least within the first month of release.

I am not a game developer so I cannot say what is involved or even guess as to what is involved in making it work.

I'm surprised they bothered too.

I've sworn off multi GPU now anyway so too little too late IMO. Well, for me anyway.

PC game support and features should be ready on day one. Again, just my opinion. We should not have to play buggy broken games for months (or not play them when they're too broken) and pay the same price as console owners whose games do mostly work and are fixed very quickly if not.

I thought this was understood because PC games used to cost £25-£30 max but it seems it really wasn't. Up goes the price up goes the criticism. I can't even remember the last time I bought a PC game and it being perfect on day one.
