Alwite, was looking about for a uk overclocking forum to join, swerved ocuk after reading a few stories and here I am.

I havnt really been "into it" since my celeron 300a days, paired up with twin v2 SLI's :D

havnt played pc games since then, till I went round a mates, who specced up a Q6600 and a 8600GTS, and we got playing crysis on it and now I want to start gaming again :D

Cant afford too much, so going for bang for buck, rather than outright performance.

I managed to bag 3 mobos for 44 quid last week, so will be using one of those.

I have £200 for the rest (exc hdd).

I'll post up some threads about that though as I could do with some help deciding :D

:wavey:

playing glquake at 1024x768 was awesome back then :D

Well I just ordered myself:

Intel Celeron E1200 1.6Ghz Dual-Core Processor (LGA775)

GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC)

OcUK GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail

Should be ok for a few games I hope :D

thats what overclocking is all about, take budget system and by using some fingering in bios do magic and make it run hell'lot of faster than any gaming machine sold for three times more in pcworld. Welcome to the forums and hope you will stay with us for a while... you wont get rid of us that easy man, believe me, i was trying too :D
