Budget: £500-650 (£700 is absolute MAX, and only if significant improvement)

Main uses of intended build: Gaming, Sony Vegas (Premiere potentially) Browsing/Schoolwork

Parts required: All

Previous build information (list details of parts): Athlon x2, M4A78, 4GB, 500W Corsair

Monitor resolution: 1080

Storage requirements: Currently have a 1TB HDD, partitioned 750:250

Will you be overclocking: Depends if a significant increase would be worth the risk

Any motherboard requirements (no. of USB, Xfire/SLI, fan headers): USB3, but I reckon most have this now?

Extra information about desired system: Games such as BF3/Skyrim, and hopefully be able to run most upcoming games at reasonable settings.

i3 2120 £90
Z77 G43 £65
670 £300
Mushkin Blackline Frostbyte £40
500w Silverstone Strider £60

Then choose case and HDD. If you're selective with these, you could probably fit an SSD in too.

Thanks, would I gain much improvement from Oc'ing the i3, if so, what heatsink do you recommend?

i3s are ok for now. I don't think they will last long as applications become more demanding.

A cm hyper 212 will be an ideal cooler for the Ivy i5 or sandy i3. Great value.
