Hey guys,
How much of a bottleneck should I be seeing running DDR3-1600 memory on single channel mode as opposed to dual channel?
I am using a single stick of 4GB GSkill Sniper 1600MHz memory. Getting bottlenecks in many games (GTA4, Witcher 2,NFS:MW 2012) with around 70%-80% GPU utilization, and esp. in the "Welcome to the Jungle" level in Crysis 3 where the grass pulls the FPS down to the 15's and gpu util. at 40-50%. There are also some areas in Tomb Raider that will crap on the FPS. The only games that achieve 99% utilization all the time are Max Payne 3, BF3 and Bioshock Infinite.
PS: Vsync is turned off and I am playing @ 1080p
Me thinks that my FX-6100 ss the source of the problem, but I wanted to know how much of a bottleneck single channel RAM will create.
Will update sig with specs right away.
