G1.Sniper 5 Vs Maximus VI Formula / Extreme

Cursed Reality

I have come to the crossroads of finally picking up the last piece for my new build. (4770k, 2x GTX780 SC, Etc)

I am having a hard time deciding which board to pick, my plans are to OC the CPU to a stable 4.6+, and possibly the 780s. The RAM will be 2133.

What do I pick?

chances are they are pretty equally weighted boards in terms of performance so I would just go for the one you like the look of best

Pretty much every board is capable of that including £100 D3HP. Only limitations are the cpu itself and heat.

You need to read our reviews more dude and youd know that.

If you want those two boards above you buy them for the features NOT the overclocking.

Already been said but yeah, overkill if all you want is a 4.6GHz 4770k and 780 sli. By all means, if you have money to throw away and just want a big mean looking board then go for it, I would if I had the money and I'd chose the ASUS one, I'll be getting a baby one compared to the Extreme, the Gene ^_^

Maybe get the GIGABYTE Z87X-OC (Not the Force version)?
Great overclocker and not that expensive for what you get.

ASUS boards is maybe not my style but always before
GIGABYTE or ASRock or MSI.
ROG boards??? Without thinking.
Extreme will be 90% awarded board and over 400-450$.
I mean that is little difference for some home user between Hero, Formula and Extreme. Hero under 200$ I think.
Much more is worry about CPU sample. If you hit good sample both of boards will OC almost same.
Good board is never overkill, but I would choose and Hero over any other manufacturer except EVGA Z87.
Better look x16 SLI Mode support board.
