I've been working on a build for the new x79(2011) and future gtx 600 series

x79(2011) pros

40x PCI-e for duel 16x and triple 16x,16x,8x for sli/cf

8 dimms means easy ~150$ for 32Gb (RAMcache/RAMdisk people)

6cores 12threads easy OC to ~4.7Ghz+

x79(2011) cons

price, i do think that the price will go down

--- when more CPU's will be released

--- when gtx 600 series will be out

"untested"

gtx 600 series

28nm thats as much as i know

anyways here's my parts

CPU : 3930k for now but ill probably get a cheaper 6core unlocked processor when its out

GPU : 670 SLI if its like the 570 at the ~400$ at release date

RAM : G.SKILL 16gb (4x4gb) for now got no real use for RAMcaching and RAMdisk ATM

MOBO : ASUS P9X79 PRO not the best but just at the sweet spot

CASE : with Tom's review it has to be the CM storm Trooper!!!

COOLING : Corsair H100 ya its the lazy man's water cooling GOTO but it works well

SSD : OCZ vertex 3 120gb

HD : prices are ridiculas right now so ill probably just take my G73JW's 500gb second HD

I have everything installed in there alredy anyways (games, etc)

PSU : corsair HX1050 right in the middle of the AX850 and the AX1050, no need for more and i dont want less then 1000w with x79 and SLI OCed

ADDITIONAL

BLUE-RAY : ASUS Black blue-ray burner

add. fans : gentle typhoon or/and magma, typhoon for H100, magma for the rest

Thermal paste : AC MX-4 didn't really recherche for better ones

Monitor : VE276Q for now then after this is built and im not broke ill get a nvidia 3D2 monitor

Will be OCing a good 20-30% stable for 27/4 use and not too much voltage too kill my CPU

Comment plz ... even if CPU/GPU may not exist yet...

Ya i think so too

this wont be built for another 3-4 months doh

and ill probably start off with only 1 GPU.

when the new product "RAGE" will die down a bit im expecting paying around

CPU - lower 6core 12 thread unlocked processor for ~450$

thats with the 3930k settling at ~525$

and the ASUS P9X79 PRO dropping to about 300 when more competition starts:

cuz right now

Asus : 6 Mobos

MSI : 4 Mobos

ASRock : 3 Mobos ... i know i still added em doh

EVGA : ... only 1 Mobo really?

GB : only 1

INTEL : 2

so when they all released 4-6 Mobos each with 8Dimms and lots more prices will go down 5-15%

thus we play the waiting game

yeah you can say that for the mobos no doubt but dont hold ur breath on the cpu dropping anytime soon Intel normally hold its price points as long as they can since they have no real competition they can do it lol. the only way I can see ya getting it for around 450$ is if you buy it second hand from a binner looking for that magic chip. I got lucky with my 2600K as the person who bought it decided not to build a rig and sold it BNIB for 60$ loss plus he had to pay shipping from Canada to me in the US

OH no i didn't mean the 3930k for 450$ that will never happen in the next year atleast...

i meant another release that's just under the 3930k, there might not be one but if there is ill be happy.
