Myself and a collegue have 2nd cars, these are basicaly an old Cavalier and an old Rascal van, primerily we fill them with surfboards and junk when we go surfing or to the beach so as not to mess up our decent cars.

I think the sum total purchase price for both vehicles was £300

Well there was a knock on the office door today and a scrap man appeared offering to move them both free of charge!!!!!!

Obviously the rest of the office was in fits of laughter at our expense as we kindly explained to the scrap man that they were actually taxed and mot'd and our cars that we used daily.........

Can't wait to go to the pub tonight when I'm pretty sure someone will let slip to everyone else about this...

thats the mighty cavalier

dont think we've got any pics of the van

I see nothing wrong with that car, definitely not bad enough for the scrap guy to be offering to haul it off, lol. I was expecting no paint, half rust eaten, no bumpers, broken lights, crack in the windshield, no passengers seat, half a dashboard, a hole in the floor. lol

He heee.

The Cavs were good motors in their day, almost as good as the Cortina IMO.

My dad scrapped a Cav 6 years ago. 3 months later the scrappy tried to rip him off and flog it back to him for £400.:nono:

ahh but looks can be decieving.

What you cant see is the rust on the other front wing.

Both door mirrors dont secure so fold in when going over 30.

Both front suspension bushes have gone so it doesnt go in a straight line

The drivers door is an opposite lambo door as in it drops to the floor when you open it.

It's covered in scratches and dents.

If you go more than 10 miles it dumps all the water so I have lots of 2l pop bottles in my boot.

The front cross member is rotten.

There's heavy rust over both rear wheel arches.

the rear seat is covered in melted surf wax so you'll mess up your clothes if you sit on it.

The exhaust is hanging off.

If you use the rear wiper is doesnt stop and carries on halfway across the boot lid.

the off side front bumper is cable tied to the wing.

the list goes on and on and on but somehow it got through an MOT not 2 months ago...oh well another year of cheap motoring :D

what do u use wax for in surfing? out of interest lol

You rub it on the surface of the board, since it is water resistant you get a nice bit of grip on it with your bare feet
