FTTC cabinet in but how long till fibre?

So last month as of many places BT put in some FTTC cabinets in my town.

BT's website says that we do not get FTTC for another 12 months.

So are they putting them in now for no use till next year?

Or does BT's website lie?

Other websites state that my exchange gets FTTC in March 2012.

If anyone could enlighten me please.

Im sure they will wait to March. I live in Caithness in the north of Scotland. There has rumors in a local newspaper that Caithness is getting high priority in this operation and it states that this will likely be happening in March.

I don't think it will be happening before March. I will research into it tonight and will inform you if I come up with anything.

Looks like my exchange is enabled, but the cable isn't down here yet.

To be honest, we were one of the last to get Virgin fibre cables down, so I doubt I'll get them that soon.
