FrozenCPU Reportedly Closes Its Doors

It looks like FrozenCPU, a long-standing retailer for PC cooling and modding supplies will be closing it's doors. Word of caution though as the site is yet to go offline and no more orders are reportedly to be taken.

That sucks... although the site is still up for me, so guessing they haven't taken it down completely yet or it's just me that have missunderstood the article a bit.

So who was the insider?

Since all staff has been fired,

...I see, it all makes sense now. While at first e-tailing a wide variety of specialist PC cooling products can seem like a profitable venture, da cheezburgers grind a man down, slowly eating away at margins.

On a slightly more serious note, this is sad news, I bought a few hard to find items from them and they were very efficient and polite to deal with.

FYI that update was from a Swiftech rep (where did you get Frozen PC from and what is it anyway?) and it was since taken back too.

I literally just received a pkg from them yesterday
was I their last shipment? Lol...

Ordered gelid GC extreme and a couple boxes of bitspower crystal link

oh man. this was the first place to have noctua industrials that i could find. way before newegg. they're also the only place in america where i can buy aquacomputer. i've never bought from canada before but it looks like thats my only alternative for some of the products they sold. (actually, i just found another reseller but they dont seem to have a few things i want. the search continues)

Really sucks. Never bought anything from them but i would venture onto their site every now and then when i would plan yet another never to happen watercooled build. They literally had everything. Other vendors of this type did not nearly have the amount of selection they did. While their site was little out of date it was easy and more simple to use than newer ones. Everything is exactly where you would expect them to be. Shame really.

Since turning in last night a lot more information has came to light.

Swiftech has retracted their statement and HardOCP have reportedly had contact with the owner, who says the site is not closing.

The article has been updated.

I find it hard to believe a successful site like this going under. There would always be another corporation ready to step in and purchase Frozen CPU. Modding and watercooling is quite lucrative these days. Most do it once in a while but there are many who turn out build after build.

Glad to hear they are still functional. I wouldn't be surprised if another corporation that has money to spare/invest in the site would take it over to expand their business. Sad to hear it's rough times for them.

I've bought alot of stuff from these guys and they have always been awesome. I hope they get things worked out.

Have you guys seen pictures of the place? Its absolutely trashed. It wasn't absolutely clear to me, but it appears as if the owner did it. Check out the OCN thread. I think the pics are around page 20-25.

Edit: Thread has been deleted. If I can get a hold of the pictures I'll be sure to post them

i called Frozencpu earlier today and got a recoreded message saying they were closed (Both numbers same message) but nothing about closing for good. I live in NY but Frozencpu is on the other side of NY (5-6 hour drive or i would go up there and check. another member from another forum lives a few miles away and said he will drive up to their store and try to see what's going on. me personally i wouldnt order anything from them till this situation is put to rest. the owner needs to make an announcement on the site to let people know what's going on with the company in my opinion instead of telling forum owners.

C'mon the place is not really that bad. Minor temper tantrum damage and reportedly no damage to exterior.

Yes but people made it out to be a complete demolition of the premises not some temper tantrum where things are thrown off desks etc. I expected much worse than that.

What you see can be cleaned up in no time.
