friends budget gaming build

right so i am currently building my mate a gaming rig, i already have an amd fx6300 an 990fx mobo, 8gd of patriot viper ram and 550w psu all being housed in a coolermaster wavemaster. he is coming round to order a hdd, graphics card and os today, now i am thinking for the gpu an AMD xfx 270x (with bf4 as this is a game he wants to play) does anyone else have any suggestions?

What PSU is it?

in terms of branding for a 270x, the best one would be sapphire or Asus. At the moment I think the cheapest one is the msi gaming one, so you should be fine .

an i was going for the xfx because of the battlefield 4 free game, it saves my mate paying for it. for the gpu an bf4 for £161 the msi is£162 with bf4 so i suppose i could go for that.

hoping the gpu with cpu combo will run bf4 at high settings an ok frame rates, at least until mantel gets released anyway

Stay away from XFX. They've improved since last gen but build quality is still really sketchy on their coolers.

You'd be suprised how well the 6300 does with Bf4. I've had a go on roughly the some config (6350 and a 7870LE) and it played the game really well.

mate decided to go with the power colour 280x, should last him a bit longer

*edit* slight change, swapped the gpu to an msi one instead
