Does the 4400 x2 have 1MB x 2 (cache)? That may be the reason for the price difference. The 512K x 2 cache chips are cheaper.

The 4400 and 4800 2x1m cache CPU's aren't included in AMD's price cuts as they are offically discontinued parts. The E-Tailers have free choice to ask what they want want for them.
