FragTek's Rig Gallery - Celtic Frost

Yea, obviously a BFG or XFX would have done nicely, but when I heard about the stepping-up with eVGA it certainly looked tempting.

I have yet to take advantage of eVGA's step-up program. Maybe I'll take a look at it for a new G80 ;) hehe.

I'll post up pix this evening of the new mobo installed and hopefully get up some oc results and benchies!

Wirelessly posted (LG Fusic: Opera/8.01 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/2.0.4719/1378; en; U; ssr))

update: new mobo and proccy in hand. hats off to abit for the awesome packaging that the mobo comes in :) now if only i could get off work a few hours early.

Finally got a chance to do a bit of cable management since sticking in the E6600 and AW9D-MAX. Here's the before and after shot :)

get.php

I have a couple of ideas to take away some of the cable clutter coming in and out of the upper drive bay area by drilling a hole on the right side of the cage in to the compartment that i'm stuffing most of the excess cable now. Might give that a shot in the next week or so.

Nicely done. I find it amusing that despite the fact that you say you hardly bothered with cable management before, it was still better than mine :p

Thanks WC :) I take pride in half-way decent cable management.

First post updated with new rig list and updated pix of Celtic Frost!

The trick is initiating the step up the day the new card comes out. You must register your cards when you get them. Then ou only have 90 days to initiate the step up. I bought 7800GTX 512's last year in December and stepped up for the price of shipping - $76 to send old cards back and pay for shipping on new 7950GX2's. I' sold the GX2's and bought the 8800 GTX's which I will step up (for the price of shipping and any difference in the retail price) once they release the 8900GTX (or whatever they speed bin the 8800 to in the spring). It's a decent cycle if you upgrade often. Buy once--> step up once-->sell old cards-->buy new ones-->step up...etc

That's some 1337 rig'ness Fragster. Bet you like her now :D

Yeah, thanks, finally nice to have a computer that runs again! I've had some pretty bad luck lately.

Now thats what I'm talking about Frag, phase change and a nice clean system. Hope it runs for years to come! (Got that Saitek Gamers Command Unit about 4 months ago myself, works great for FPS:D )

Thx guys. The Vapo's loudness depends on the level at which I keep the two internal 12cm fans. I usually keep them at 75% and it's rather quiet, just the hum of the compressor.
