fractal design ARC

Nice case, but wasn't cold enough for me so I went back and purchased two of these:

and put them on the bottom and top of my case:

Now, when I first turned my PC on I left them on full blast and let it start. Shortly after the PC crashed. I don't know what caused it, but im leaning toward these fans sucking up all the power. I have a fan controller though and even at the lowest setting these still push an incredible amount of air.

your fans will draw a tiny bit of power like 1-2 amps each so i doubt its that but without full specs of your build i cant say for 100% sure

Definitely not the fans causing it. any OC on it? if yes check your settings. if no, most crashes can be tracked back to your registry... and the most those fans could ever pull is 1.8 amps as he said

It was o/ced when I started having the problems, now it's just totally random. Before I got the new fans it happened too. Going to take apart the case today and clean the GTX anyways. Any tips on how to ground stuff better in the case? I am starting to think that maybe that's the problem.

Sometimes the computer will crash if I plug something into a USB slot too....

As for grounding it better, just your PSU should be doing its job, some boards are notorious for shorting out on the standoffs that hold it in the case. Might want to check and see if those are causing a short? Just looking at your board, it looks like there is a screw just south of your ram. I have had two motherboards that when they had a standoff in that position give me fits. just as a test you might want to try removing that one for a while and see if it does anything?

I bought 2x120mm 130cfm fans. I have the 3x140mm fans it came with as well, but they maybe push 30-40cfm at best which isn't that great. I also have 2x120mm 110cfm fans that are currently on my H50. There is one of the three 140mm fans in the door (not pictured)

Now here is a photo of where fans are currently in my case (complete with half ass descriptions on the photo).

I think the case gets a bit hot considering how much air is being pushed through the case, so any help would be awesome! (bit hot to me is 40C) I was thinking about mounting the H50 to the top of the case and having 1x 130cfm pushing the hot air out and with other next to it. Do you think that would be ok?

what is 40°? idle, loaded? whats ambient?

the arc in a stock factor was a great air case, so i am having questions about the flow

in your rig. fractal design has two 140mm fans available:

Fractal Design Silent Series 140MM Ultra Quiet Cooling Fan 800RPM 39CFM 9DBA

Fractal Design Silent Series R2 140MM Quiet Cooling Fan 1000RPM 65.9CFM 19dbA

the newegg units are shipped with the r2 fans i believe (description shows 1000rpm)

so if you added monster ventilation and don't see a drop (wasn't disclosed) your CPU

solution may be at fault. changing the ambient air in the case is good, but the CPU

radiator isn't responding.

what kinda temps were in your old case?

airdeano

My old case was always quite a bit warmer because the air flow wasn't nearly as good. The ambient temp in my old case was 45C -50C loaded that case had one top 140mm (i think) top fan one 120mm front intake and my h50 fans. This case (and how I have it set up) idles around 30-32c and is 40-45c loaded. I keep thinking if I can drop the case temps more the videocard wouldn't get that hot. My cpu ranges from 34c idle to like 50c load. The videocard runs around 45c idle and (without forced adjustments) loaded runs like 90c+ even after a deep cleaning and reapplication of paste.

Actually now that I'm really thinking bout it... if you put the two lower cf/m fans as the pulls on top, and your higher cf/m ones as the push on the front... and if you can move the HDD bay out of their way (if you don't really need them cooled) that would be the way to go to lower the case temp and most likely the CPU temp a little too... there is something wrong with my brain today...

ur cpu temps r fine.

ur gpu is running a little hot. have u installed MSIafterburner? when ur gpu is on full load what's the fans speed?

what's ur room temps?

If i removed the lower cage I would have nowhere to place my ssd and hdd.

Room is never more than 70F, If it gets hotter then I turn on the A/C.
