Had my 2500k for 5yrs 1 month and think it's probably due an upgrade. I don't think I'll get massive performance increase but I'm interested in new motherboard features. Do you think it'll be worthwhile?

Current build
2500k @ 4.7ghz
CM 212+
MSI Z68 GD55
GIGABYTE GTX 970 G1
Rippler 8gb @ 1600mhz
Corsair 650w Tx2
Samsung 840 Pro 256gb
Samsung 840 Evo 250gb
Samsung 850 Evo 500gb
Lian Li PC-70

New Parts (will be using everything else from old PC)

i7 7700k
Noctua NH-D15
ASUS Z270-A Prime
Kingston Savage 32gb 16x2 @ 2666mhz
Fractal Define C

I should be able to get all this for about £400 which is considered cheap perhaps but still a chunk sum.

I'd honestly wait to upgrade. Zen should be out next month and it'll be the first time since in like 6 years AMD CPUs are competitive. It's worth the wait.
Either way it'll be a pretty big upgrade. You'll see a performance increase without a doubt.

However if you want to do it now, then the only thing I'd change is the RAM. Down to 16GB. Unless you are doing a ton of editing, 16GB is more than enough. Should save a big chunk of cash this way too.

That's the thing, I'm getting this ram for about £90. If I don't buy it in the next few days I'll have to buy 16gb as i;ll miss out on this deal because it'll sell. Waiting for zen could be worth it.
All my new parts will cost me about £400 because I'm getting a good deal.

If you are getting all of that for £400 that is a steal of a deal. How on earth are you managing to get a i7 7700k and everything else for that little?

I.T guy at work was given loads of hardware from a company for free and he's just selling it. No clue why they sent loads of enthusiast level stuff.
