Looks like ive finally got things running as fast as they will go, current setup:

P4 3ghz @ 3.6ghz with stock retail cooling

FSB: 240

Core Voltage: 1.725

DRAM Voltage: 2.85

DRAM Freq: 320

DRAM FSB 192x2

Cas Rating: 2-3,3,6 burst:8

And all settings on my P4C800-E Deluxe bios set t turbo

I need to ask a question tho and please answer honestly. I am worried that spending all this money on phase cooling wont achieve me anything. On idle im running at arround low to mid thirties and on load i peak at very low fifties. Yet it seems the thing thats stopping me from overclocking more is crashes adn reboots etc, like wen i try to log in to windows, at 3.7ghz it hangs, or at 3.67ghz wen running 3dmark01 my system reboots.

Will this still be a problem wen i get phase cooling and ill still be stuck at 3.6ghz only £400 worse off?

Thanks aldready guys!

Hi mate

First of all your Vcore is too high for air cooling...you dont want to end up with a dead cpu do you?

Some cpus due to high vcore tend to clock lower and lower over time so thats something you need to be aware of as well...

Personally i found that phase change will get you where you want provided your setup is capable of high fsbs, your psu is not QTEC :D and your ram able to run dividers or not etc.

I never thought of going back to water or air ever since i used phase change and the Mach 2 GT will be my 3rd phase change unit.

So imo yeah its worth it...

BTW 1.7 -1.75V is supposed to be the max voltage for 24/7 with phase change even though the M0 cpus love higher voltages and seem to be fine with 1.8-1.85V...

Mine used to stop at 3.5GHz with a max load temp of 39ºC under load with my water cooling setup. Electronics LOVE being cold as its 100% stable at 4GHz now.

I completed a 20hour prime test whilst trying to get my Glastonbury tickets the other day (got 2 1 hour before they ran out).

thx ferret, that was the kind of reassurance i needed to hear :D

and im glad u got your ticket, i know my friend was waiting ages also :P

oh and im still running stable at 3.6ghz with my slightly high voltage :P no mess ups, no winamp crashes, nothing ! :D

1.7v!

that seems like a lot of voltage to be throwing @ a 240 fsb clock, what p4 u got malay / week wise? Mine only needs 1.66 @ 262 fsb 1:1. I only start needing 1.7 + 300 fsb when dividing

SL6WK

FPO/Batch: 3410A140

wot mobo u using gorby? i heard asus's sux for any voltage within the 1.6 category.

Also seems that wen its running hot (on load at 50 deg) it crashes winamp :(

Its the Vchip producing 1.66v instead of 1.6...

i cant remember why but its not asus fault for that...

The asus canterwood and springdale boards are the best ones at the moment offering stability and high fsb speeds;)

No 1 choise for overclockers...i moved from an IC7-G to the P4C800 E Deluxe myself and i have always been an Abit "man"...

Well if it crashes on load then ...lower your voltage and fsb...your rig aint stable enough :(better be on the safe side than sorry... ;)

hi there i had a p3ghz used it on prometeia

and i could bench test at 4166mhz

u would get good overclocks from ur p4.

u would never look back.

but if u can afford it go for the

mach 2 Gt its the mutts nutts.
