folding problems work units taking 10+ days

Hi guys,
I have got a problem with folding at home. im on the v7 client i have a 8057 WU and it says that it going to take 13 days to complete normaly it takes only 3-3.5 hours, the other gpu is fine.

nvidia gtx 690

on msi afterburner the gpu1 usage is all over the shop up and down like a yo-yo

any idea's

and i have a spare 9800gt laying around could i put that in my system along with my gtx690 would i need to change anything in the bios to make it work

Hi Mate,

I wouldn't start digging into this issue too deeply. It's unlikely to be anything to do with your hardware.
8057 is a beta WU and I've had massive inconsistency on the 2 I've had. One completed in 3 hours one failed to complete and binned itself returning the early results to stanford.

There are guys on here that know more about beta units than me, but I think Stanford are fine tuning the WU's to make sure they are reliable and stable so failures/massive deviations in TPF are going to occur.

Have you increased the verbosity of your client and checked the logs for anything unusual, what you are seeing is more or less identical to what I saw on the WU that got rejected. If you pause your folding (creating a restart point) and power cycle your machine you might see the TPF drop back to where it was at around 3 hours, but this is a beta WU so don't be too surprised if something else snags up along the way. As for your GPU utilisation I was showing my 570 as sitting at idle whilst folding on one of the 8057 WU's, the restart kicked it back into life though but it still failed later on.

To be honest, i would delete that specific project (WU) !
its still a 'beta' project (WU) ..

Or is this always the case with a 8057p ?

I don't think there is a consistent pattern Ray.
I had one fly through with no problems in 3.5 hours and the next one just dumped on me, was complaining about clock skews and hardware instability.

It looks like a beta wu problem this is the first time it has happend, it has come down to 3 days now, so it looks like it is comming down.

It has gon back to normal now .

@Yeren Just over taken you . If i do only 8057 projects i get 144k ppd for each core, that's just over 19k for each unit, so all in all it says on the v7 client 310k with my 3930k

ps: I have gone down from rank 90 to 56 in a week of solid folding

so thearetically you can get up to 288k PPD just from the 690 if you have 8057 WU?

thats mental and no wonder you over took me, near on 200k PPD im lucky if i get 10% of that when im folding. which i have just started again
