Folding on an Nvidia 640

Just wondering what sort of numbers one could expect from a 640.

I'm not expecting mega numbers, but since the card is small and doesn't require much power I was wondering if its worth slipping into on of my rigs.

What do you mean exactly ? Do you wanna use it for gaming and which games do you plan on playing ? Which CPU do you have at which speeds ? You need to give some more details on your pc and the using purpose ?

This is the folding section ;). He is asking about PPD.

@OP - Not sure, but I'd expect 5k-7k. Consider this a bump though. Hopefully someone that knows for sure will chime in.

Looks like those hopes have been dashed.

That card, not requireing any external power having a fairly small footprint would have gone perfectly into either the third PCI-E slot on my main i7 rig or found a home in my folding rig which has already run out of wires (Some long molex wires will be going in their soon).

With every cloud though.........

It looks like I have got my hands on a 560 none Ti. At the very least it's a straight swap for the 460 786mb in my folding rig. I should be able to gain, at a guess 2k PPD over the 460 which was stable at 800mhz.

Off the top of my head I cant remember the PPD for the 460 @ 800mhz, I've been away from my babies for too long. 12.5k seems to ring a bell, but that would depend on WU obviously.

I will look into what configs work best (remembering the 460 doesn't work well with the 560 Ti), I have no idea if certain combinations with throw off the PPD from what it should be.
