Folding At Home V7 client and CPU PPD drop ?

I am wondering what kind of drop in PPD you have ones you start adding GPU's ?

lets say, first only F@H on the CPU (SMP) PPD = 20000,
ones you add one GPU there is a drop of 2000 (Example!)...

add another GPU another hit of 2000 !? so a totall PPD drop of 4000...
is this what happens with the V7 client ? because that's what i have been hearing...

Thanks in advance and Happy Folding..!

Yeah, as the GPUs take use the CPU's power to deal with some of their stuff, it decreases your SMP PPD. It's why folding on lower end cards is often not viable, as the hit to SMP outweighs the gain from GPU.

Thank you sir for the very fast reply !
that's BIG shame and now i will have to start testing some more, to find out what kind of drop ?

but also for the GPUtracker as that's what i am using and the drop isn't that BIG IIRC...

BTW this will come (show) back in the guides i am preparing....

I'm not folding ona GPU yet as my HD 5550 doesnt want to,

What i have found though i if folding on the V7 client, SMP i tend to get really big point jobs

But whilst i am now using the GPUtracker (for the SMP use) i am getting lots of tiny jobs but more consistant PPD

ie with the GPUtracker im averaging about 27k PPD

but with V7 im getting about 20K and that is without a GPU folding on it

7000PPD difference, interesting...
if that is constant , then a good reason (SMP users) to go to the GPUtracker....
