Fold for Team 43461!

Sure why not, Just downloaded the console one and am now running it. Anyway to not make it show up in the window bar? Maybe the taskbar or not at all?

EDIT: Actually, I'll just go with the graphical. Changing the program priorty help fold any faster?

If you set the console one to start automatically with Windows it does it all in the background, you wouldn't know it was there unless you looked at your processes or CPU usage :)

It's pleasing to see so many of our younger members participating in the F@H project. Well done lads keep up the great work :)

i myself have had two family members suffer from cancer and several close family friends with a miriad of problems caused by protein misfolding so i understand the need for it, unfortunately i think f@h has bust my 7800gtx :( oh well, more fiddling and tests needed but i will not be impressed if i have to wait for an rma to go through lol

How has it bust your GFX card? It puts no stress on the GFX card at all - apart from on the PSU

Whoot! First WU complete, now working on a bigger one :)

Is it possible to fold another computer at the same time as my main under my username and it will count towards my score?

Course you can. When you set it up, look through the advanced settings. There should be one called something like Computer ID #. Just choose a different # than all of the rest of your comps :)

Is there a way to skip a big WU? I have one that is 83/50,000 and it's supposed to take over 1000 days so can I skip it and go to a smaller one?

You run the risk of Stanford not sending you nice WU's (high points) for a while. If your rig is either unstable and not completing WU's, they'll cut you off eventually because it delays the results, someone else has to fold the WU instead. You should be ok mate, as long as you don't make a habit of it. Further, I've never seen a WU that takes a 1000 days to fold ;)

I'm on a 50,000 one now, it may take two days, they always over estimate the days. Can't wait to see the pointage from it, than again I do liek a fram evry 3 seconds so it's really not that bad.

It's definitely not as bad as I thought, I find if I leave my computer on overnight with no other processes running it makes some very nice progress so I decided to keep it. Thanks for the help guys :)
