First time building a computer. Kinda stumped

The sad thing is that these kind of threads actually attract attention feeding the moronic trolls. I fed this one a lot in the past and present though. Let's hope no future too.

Also since this thread ain't going to serve much of a purpose anyways. What do people recommend for 2way SLI bridges? As I have decided to downgrade my Newbie H10 build to only 2 980s, I've got the 3way version from evga at the moment and looked at the 2way version, but it just doesn't look that good.

How about this list- it was given to me on another forum.

i7 4790K
ASUS Z97-A
2X8GB DDR3 2133 C9
GTX 970 4GB
250GB Samsung 840 EVO
1TB WD Caviar Blue
Corsair 300R
EVGA Supernova 650
"cheapo optical" -- what does this mean?

Thanks

This was for real o.O

In that case i'm sorry for my troll response and here is my suggestion. I only quickly looked on NCIX for an idea of price but it seems like a high quality 1440p rig would be possible using the full budget or you could cut back a little and still do a really nice overkill 1080p mATX rig. Depending on what resolution your happy with you could cut back further. I also advise you do lots more reading before attempting a build and preferably find someone who has done it before to guide you.

For ~$3000 Canadian

i7-4790k
Asus Maximus VII Gene
Asus GTX980 Strix
Corsair Vengeance Pro Red 2x8GB 2133C9
Corsair H100i
Corsair HX750i

Samsung 850 Pro 500GB
Western Digital 1TB Caviar Blue (if needed)

Dell U2414H
Corsair K70 RGB MX-reds
Corsair M65 RGB
Operating system of choice, 7 64bit or 8 64 bit

Welcome to the forums PCGamingnoob

As mind blowing as this thread is, especially the OP (original post). We have been subject to many sarcastic trolling threads lately, and I have to admit PCGamingnoob yours read just like one, so on behalf of all the guys I'd like to apologise and reassure you, you are in safe hands with the guys here and your future build sounds impressive.

If you need any more help please feel free to ask away, there is usually one of us not to far away from the forums.

Wow I didn't see that coming. Welcome mate. Surely though if your going liquid nitrogen you'll need a test bench of some sort. Also DDR4 is for X99. The OP seems a little bit overly dumbed down, as soon as you read anything concerning DDR4 you will find that it is for the Intel platform yet it is mentioned along with AMD am I the only one who still thinks something is still a bit off, about this thread, considering the advise that he/she has just given on the other thread asking about a new build.

I wanted to ascertain the level of knowledge on this forum to see if it was worth my while. I build PCs regularly and I know what I'm doing. I just wanted to see how people would respond and what advice they would give. Only 1 person actually tried to help me and offered builds. Tisk tisk.

Shame on me for trolling, but shame on you for not responding properly. =00=:D

The only thing you have done here is prove that we should help you no longer.

Not sure what the Mods will do, but I have a pretty good idea. bye bye

The rest of the people who answered were wise enough to see through the bull mate, that's all. If I were you I'd TROLL OFF

you peoople are crazy..
That build on page 1 is exactly like my last build apart from pretty much everything about it.
seems legit to me

I see nothing wrong with this thread. I think OP got his whole PC spot on, and I'd go for one of the aquarium style builds but submerge the whole PC in liquid nitrogen. As liquid nitrogen doesn't contain any water, it doesn't conduct electricity and will be perfectly safe for all components including the power supply, motherboard, keyboard and mouse.

There's no place on this forum for trolls like you. People on here are here to help, not fuck around with some asshole who thinks he's funny for wasting peoples time. Go get a life.

If you had asked a serious question I am sure you would have got a lot of serious answers. As to ascertaining the level of knowledge on these forums, you could try reading a few threads instead of wasting peoples time and goodwill.

If anything the fact that you did not get a lot of serious replies means that the level of knowledge on this forum is high enough to see right through your troll of an opening post and also the poor excuse quoted above.

A piece of advice, if you want to get on with people on these forums or any other forums for that matter, please don't waste their time.
