EDMONTON - A team from the University of Alberta has proven for the first time that a single molecule can switch electrical currents off and on, a puzzle that scientists worldwide have been trying to crack for decades.

The finding could revolutionize the field of electronics, providing a leap ahead for everything from computers to batteries to medical equipment...

Interesting stuff.

thiing is though it has bigger implications, this is where my tv programs knowledge comes in, potentially as its molecular as possibly "living" (in all tense and purposes) it needs to feed now thats fine, what do you feed it lol?

i tink im on the right track here but just further down the line of nano technology, but none the less very impressive, just imagine cpu chips producing less than 1w of heat or even less the potential we have as what to overclock em at.

Bit off point i know this bit but cooling solutions are coming of age and i was thinking that chip are no longer not only been produced to be more powerful but also produce less heat (refering back to article) this menas that overclocking head room and the technology which drives the industry moores law is now beggining to be broken or certainly on the limitations of his theorum.

What next i ask :P ^^ = my $0.2 worth

If you want to overclock it you have to feed it fertilizer :p

I like the sound of lappys lasting a month on a single charge :D
