first self built PC

Very nice first build , good job.
I would recommend a Corsair or Seasonic psu, most everyone here will probably recommend them also, Corsair psu's are very reliable and have a great warranty.
I would just put a 3570k and a decent after market cooler in there and run it for a while until you have more funds to go to a haswell setup.
But nice job , it looks pretty good for a first build.

i5 3570k seems the best option atm, for cooling should i go for an air or h60/h90? i'm still on the fence whether i like these closed loops or not lol.

I think the fan of the PSU must face downwards, facing upwards will collect more dust inside the PSU and increase the possibility of a small screw or other metal objects falling inside the PSU

Really doesn't matter which way the PSU goes, tom does fan up and I did it so it lights up my rig a bit.

I like the colour scheme white/black/red, nice build! In regards to a CPU upgrade, the difference between a 3570 and a 3770 is hardly worth the extra cost of the I7 in my opinion, I would go with the I5 and spend the saved money elsewhere.

i'm thinking about jumping teams if i'm honest ^_^ getting a 990 chip bored with a cheap am3 cpu then upgrade to steamroller, though i may just wait and see how the market goes.
