Some benching done with an FX55? CPU-bottleneck-tastic!

I dont believe them tho. The 8800GTX numbers in particular are highly inflated, or they are SLI.

The R600 pulls 15K in 3D06...with a Quad-Core at 5300. Not that great?

Nice find K404.

I am disappointed - seem to be the mhz rather than the architecture that makes it so fast, probably more ram that anything else.

Still it is the fastest card around, it's probably also the most power hungry and produces enough heat to warm an office.

Interesting to see how far it overclocks too - I get the impression from teh clocks stated above that there won't be much headroom.

With reference to the 3dm06 result - my 7900GTX SLI and Kentsfield at 4.2ghz pulled 13k... not sure how relevant that is here though.

Price drops on Nvidia anyone?

I will reserve judgement until the actual release, those GTX numbers dont look quite right to me.

Not that it matters, with those ridiculous power requirements and heat output there is no way i am going near one!

I am interested in the cooler though, looks like a beast.

Some discontent about the clock speeds of the Quad-Core tests. Theres only a few ppl in the world even remotely capable of benching a Kents at that speed, and even then only with exceptional silicon and cooling, so it looks likely that a "normal" score might drop to 14.5K or 13K maybe

Given my current situation, I might well wait until prices are down a bit before buying a new GPU.
