First overclock

Ok i've tried to overclock manually for the first time today.

Just want to run past you guys if all looks ok/normal.

specs are in my signature.. although i'm running the standard fans from the h100i and c70 case (fans on h100i are running a balanced profile).

I've managed to get my 4770k to 4.7 at 1.3v .. i've ran the stress test from the intel extreme tuning utility for 1 hour and hit a max temp of 89 degrees.

No throttling.

Anything less than 1.3 @ 4.7 and it fails the stress after 5 mins or so.

You aint stable mate until you use OOCT with AVX box checked and then do a power supply test also.....

Not many 4770k's can do 4.7 @ 1.3v , unless your extremely lucky..

Lol, youll get there mate, just watch them temps, you can set up ooct to stop stressing at a certain temp.. Did you watch TTL's Vid ?

Right am back..

Dropped it to 4.4 @ 1.2v and ran ooct for 1 hour with AVX and it passed with max temp of 87c

I didn't want things creeping into the 90's so i'm happy with that.

It passed the power supply test too.. so i think i'll leave it there..

I'd say that 87 is a little warm mate, saying that though its never gonna get to that temp unless your folding on it... Have you thought about delidding ? You could easily knock of 20c delidded.... http://forum.overclock3d.net/showthread.php?t=54249

PS - make sure all logical cores is checked to to stress the hyperthreading....

Ha this is my first manual overclock so deliding might be a bit much for me at the mo.
