In that case the i7 makes sense
Are you not going with a storage drive though? Or do you have external storage?

With that resolution you'll deffinitely want to grab at least a GTX 670, preferably 4GB version. Normally I'd recommend you the 7970, but CUDA can come in handy with video editing :)

Can always throw in a second card later

Very well,

In that case the only thing I'd personally change is grab a 4GB GTX670 :)

And maybe an MSI mPower, but that's just cause it's the absolute best Z77 board out there and overclocks like a beast (gotta get lucky with your chip though) ;)

Gigabyte motherboard is a must, because I will be installing OS X.

How much difference will 4GB vs 2GB make?

I appreciate your fast responses :D

Ah fair enough, I'm typing this on a Hackintosh myself ;)

More VRAM will help at higher resolutions, especially if you want to do some video editing. If you play games like Far Cry 3 at max settings with that resolution the VRAM is going to be usefull and so will it be with future games imo.

You could grab a 7970 with 3GB for the same price but then you won't have CUDA, which I would recommend for video editing. Nvidia cards don't come in 3GB versions

Just my personal view though :)

Thank you :)
I'll think about 4GB version, but it is 55 EUR more than 2GB version and I also want to keep it as quiet as possible without water cooling the GPU...

Yeah, tell me about being on a budget

2GB will do fine for now, 4 would just be a tad more... Future proof. Oh well, you can always swap out the cards in a year or two if you need to :)
