first build

Yes it should be shown.Plug ssd in sata port1, dvd drive in sata port2.Let it boot past bios, without anything.Insert media and reboot(ctrl+alt+del)

I have 7 sata ports starting with 0 they are stacked double could i try the cable that came with the mobo instead of the one with the drive??

Fixed very silly of me I was connect the wrong sata cable up thinkin it went to the dvd drive when it came from the front panel manage to get to the install stage of win7 but then it state windows cannot be install to this disc and mentions the bios no i've gone back to bios and allowed booting from the ssd it mentions the controller what could be stopping me installing to the ssd??

Thanks for all the advice I felt very stupid when I realised that the right cable wasn't even connected.

i'm trying to install win7 64 bit and have 119gb worth of space free

Yes try with that.Look in the manual, there its explained, sata port connection.

You may have used Gsata ports.Use sata3 port0 for ssd,sata2 port 0 for drive.

Use the cable that came with ssd,use cable that came with mobo for drive.

Look at layout picture.

Major bummer, but we all make some stupid mistakes sometimes.

I know mate spent an hour trying to figure it out lol

any ideas on the installing of Win 7 and why the ssd won't let me the exact message is

Windows can't install to this disk. This disk may not support booting. Ensure your disk controller is enabled in the BIOS menu."

Now this has got me stumped.

The ssd isnt partitioned yet.In w7 install menu, click user defined install.Define boot drive, click first time install, that should the trick

Just got to the install page pressed install 32 bit which i didn't want to do and cancelled it then when i tried to reload it state bootmgr is missing press ctrl alt delete to restart i tried using the vista disc i've got an get the same message this day is just getting worse

Any ideas

Oh dear, me hopes u haven't corrupted your win7 disc....

Edit: Found a possible soloution for you HERE on how-to-geek

Edit 2: Actualy its just dawned on me, make sure you boot from disc and not your hdd/sdd because when it started it install with 32bit it might of changed the boot sequenced to your sdd or hdd.

Everyone forgets things now and then, I for one forgot a few months ago that I hadn't formatted a new HDD and wondered why Windows claimed it didn't exist
