Firewall blocking server list?

Basically i have no idea why but

With my speedtouch 580 i could get 4000 servers easily on css server list

With my 2700hgv i can only find 700-ish

With call of duty 4 i can only find a few decent ping servers :-\

Although i can join friends if they are in the servers i cannot find :'(

Iv forwarded the ports etc. is there some form of protection on?

First off, CSS is getting old, could be a reason for the servers going away.

And with CoD4, I find it hard to find any good ping servers.

All mine are in the 1000s. Until I join one, then it goes down to around 50.

So I have given up in believe what the server list says.

But even 50 is high for me.. makes me wonder how good the networking is in CoD4.

But i cant find the servers i could b4. As soon as i installed the new router they went in their 1000s :|

but my friends can find them

Its not the ping connection, its the lack of servers (meaning i cant actually find the low(er) ping ones inc. OC3D

I think there is a setting as to how many connections to allow etc as my linux router/firewall sometimes stops the connection when it is spammed by server browsers like on steam/cs. Anything up to a certain number is ok, but once it gets over a set number it just blocks it as it thinks it is an attack.

I don't use steam for finding servers. I just use a program called QTracker with a favourites list as I like to play on the same servers with the same people.

In the past week I think I've only played on 4 different public servers (quite a few more private, but people msg them over)
