This thing is...

Utterly AMAZING.

Six tabs open usually abour 65MB of memory used. with his program running in the background (using around 900k).

My firefox memory usage has droppep

ALOT

I read 1MB!!

Thats one hell of a reduction.

Download

Checked it with AVG and had no problems so far.

Sounds cool, firefox can be very bloated at times.

Downloading now!

Awesome, this works really well :D

have 5 tabs open, was using 66mb, now down to about 2-3mb.

Its a bit of a worry what its doing, i mean if it was perfectly normal to do this, then it would of been coded into firefox!

EDIT: hmmmm, as soon as i close it, firefox jumps straight back up. spooky

It's probably doing something like putting in virtual memory or a file... not such a bad idea, but might get really slow with a lot of tabs etc?

yeah, that could be it. It would certainly decrease performance.

Can someone confirm if this is decent or not?

So far I see people stating it reduces mem usage considerably yet you are weary about it...

Does it increase performance or not?

Thanks :)

it certainly reduce's the amount of ram it use's. I cant tell if it increase's performance (speed wise). I'm swaying to not using it though as firefox has always ran pretty quick even with umpteen tabs open.

Also i cant find much info about it which makes me weary.

if it is reducing mem usage that much, it has to be going to page files, which cant be great for performance

it makes me laugh that people dont like apps using like 100mb out of 2048mb or more. even on vista thats hardly a dent

I'm not one of those... If its using 100mb+ chances are i'm not in a game which is the only time I'd need all my ram.. If i'm in a game then i'll close firefox. Simple.

Already deleted it... It may be perfectly fine and dandy but I've never had any problems with Firefox as is so it shall stay as it has been. Plus the program itself takes up a couple of meg ram ;)
