Firefox 1.5 Users: You Lose

because if it works, why fix it?

honestly, i have zero reason to upgrade, and i can speel wifout foxfire versoin too

Not sure why people wouldn't be on version 2 by now, but the spellchecker got annoying so I disabled it as it was fixing words that were english and putting them to american :(

like colour would become color etc :(

right click > add to dictionary? OR change it to the english spell checker lol

it's easier to just disable it tbh, if you can type and spell who needs it?

also you would be wasting time to build your own word database for the spellchecker tbh

Never had any problem with the spellcheck tbh.

At work I have to use IE and I find its lack of features, exactly that - lacking.

By peoples previous statements 'I don't use/need spellchecker' does that mean you disable the spellchecker on word, email etc? When you are rushing/tired/drunk it is a god send!

Firefox extensions also rock!

Writing reviews is far easier with a spell-checker :)

@Dave idleness is not an excuse...it even does it for you

Ya know this is a bit like people still using XP SP1 and saying "nothing's wrong, I have no problems"

New versions are released for a reason...security holes, vulnerabilities etcetc. Why people wouldn't want all the fixes to these problems is beyond me

idd

Not being funny or anything, but one thing with the average windows user seems to be the attitude of "if I have no problems, why upgrade". Some even say "if it's not broke why fix it" well the whole point is it is sort of broke which is why the new patches are released, whether they are security fixes or bug fixes.

Firefox/Thunderbird etc have an auto-update feature for a reason.

this sucks,i am still using 1.5 also and have no need to change it either but it looks like i will haveto soon:ar:

all the major security updates have been patched in 1.5, hence the constant updates

the only difference is lack of features etc, and if i move, some of my extensions will not work.

i havent missed out on any security patches, my "if it aint broke, dont fix it" attitude is more of a "if i dont NEED to upgrade, then why the hell should i"

now that the updates are stopping for 1.5, i have a reason to upgrade, but until now, i havent had a good reason.
