FIRE!!!

So I got on my bus to go home to be told by the bus driver that there was a fire and roads had been closed, AN HOUR AND A BLOODY HALF it took to go 6 or 7 miles :L

Anyway here is an article about it, nothing compared the kind of forest fires you get in Australia etc but for where I live its a un commen, this is the second fire in two weeks and there's a rumor going round that it was some 14 yr old ned :L

There is still a big one here in Arizona. Arizona and southern Cali get big ones (MUCH bigger than this) about 3 monsters a year.

The most resent fire in AZ was the Gladiator fire burning 16,240 acres.

Its because you have no old tress, they were all cut down, I had a tree at my old house that they figured was 300 years old

OPid not realise you lived that far up!,ah Stornoway,the first place that would have been nuked if the Warsaw Pact had charged,you do not know how lucky you are.

I have never been to your Isle,furthest I have been is Skye(all over the bugger,lol) and most northerly is Thurso,That was a LONG day( I am from Leeds btw),set off on Wednesday evening and got back Friday morning,lol,I miss those days(well I miss the money).

tbh I love it up there,getting there is a bugger though.Not many places where you can throw a Merc Sprinter around at 100 with a big grin on your face and not have to worry about the police,there is hardly any people never mind police(in my line of work,that was a big plus).

I imagine the roads are just as quiet where you are?

I will say that the night sky up there is AMAZING,being a city boy I did not realise how much light pollution there was,but up there (without a mass amount of street lights and such)the heavens are truly gorgeous!

i feel like a cretin, ive never crossed the border in scotland, sounds like im missing out on a lot.

Its a little busier where I am, I think the reason I never likes Skye is because im fed up of quiet :L I wanna be in the city, quiet life bores me :L
