Does this really make that much of a difference to a game like this?

TBH I was playing this game last night and the animations looked very jerky to me.

I could play the game fine, but the judder would tear me from the experience at times.

TBH i think if the emulated PS2 version can run at 60 the "remaster" should.

it is the same limit that is in the PS3 and PS4 versions of the game.

thePS2 was also capped to 30, but that was due to hardware limitations. The remaster is capped due to laziness.

People with the PS2 emulator can run this at 60 with no issues, so Squeenix should have put in the effort.

Very annoying I was really looking forward to playing this game when I get my new GPU but at 30fps that's a deal breaker for me at least till either square enix or this Modder fix the issue.

Real shame unfortunately square have a habit of being lazy with game ports

30 to 60 FPS personally seems like a bigger improvement than what is experienced when going from 60 to 120. 30 just seems way too slow.

Just played a little FFX on the PS2 emulator at a resolution of 7680x4320 and as it's set to PAL it doesn't go any higher than 50FPS unless you disable the frame limiter but then everything is super fast and unplayable but it also never dipped below 50FPS.

Even with the remastered versions higher res texture etc... they could have unlocked the FPS.
