Fermi + cpu folders

I may have found a fix for the cpu usage issues when using Fermi cards on some WUs.

Assuming that your GPUs are on the i7, you should try removing the affinity lock from both in the advanced options of -config and set the environment variable NV_FAH_CPU_AFFINITY to 255. This will spread the gpu load across all cores and avoid imbalancing the SMP threads. You might pick up a little speed.

I don't have Fermi so I can't try it...but the OP of that thread reported much better results on bigadv.

Oh how interesting great Find

Just made the adjustment now so we'll see what happens as all 3 of my cards seem to be playing nice and folding with smp set back up to 8 from 6

I think i will notice a difference maybe if I Run my 460's in SLI and 470 on its own because with smp -6 rather than -8 ppd's go back to the way they were whereas at -8 using all 8 cores ppd goes down 5-6k/ gpu which IMO is unacceptable unless i have to adjust my cpu core useage

Hey thanks for the heads Up mate,

going to read it after coffee and i hope to get some results out of this

Added what i needed to add now i am waiting for a good result

but i am getting the slow feeling this isn't going to work

Trying this out again. Dropping from 30k to 7k on my i7 is unacceptable (new GPU3 and no bigadv, just 6701)...

glad its @ 67%

im sure ive ran a few of them with no drop on ppd, if my ppd dropd less than usual and a restart of the client doesnt help i restart the pc

So you guys also having problem when gaming on Fermi Card and i7 CPU's, I thought that this is problem with my gfx card, but seems to be a problem with nvidia.I'm having stucks in games, usualy in Crysis - do you guys have the same?

Nope this has to do with a specific WU we get on the Fermi
