Fallout 4's High Resolution texture pack has been released

Good video from Joker Productions, The difference is very minor and the performance hit isn't that bad.

Already have my own screenshots and benchmark data, will have an article on the impact later today.

Shame Joker didn't do 4K stuff, as that is what this is really aimed towards.

Downloading it now on my Titan X rig. Not even going to go there on my AMD rig tbh, the Fury X would choke given it wants 5.5gb+.

Looking forward to it though. Even though it doesn't look great it looks like it sharpens everything up which the game desperately needed.

Looking forward to your article, Mark, as ever :)

I'm waiting to see if Gopher from Gophers Vids does a video on this.

Ah, the modder. I would love to hear his opinions on this. It is likely that this texture pack could have been made much smaller with no loss in quality (which is typical for Bethesda).

Modders will no doubt improve this patch further, as TBH the mod does improve things but not as much as a 58GB download should.

Well he did make a rant video about Fallout 4.

IMO it was a good video, i agree with 90% of what he was saying.

So many are bitching in Joker's video about how a 50GB patch could have such a minimal impact on graphics. I'm by no means an expert on this, but there are a remarkable amount of idiots who are rather oddly playing on PC instead of consoles. That just doesn't compute with me. You're smart enough to play on PC, but too stupid to realise the difference between texture resolution and physics/lighting/shadows/draw distance/everything else that makes up an engine? The amount of bitching for what is essentially a free and optional upgrade is absurd. Bethseda didn't have to spend potentially thousands of collective hours improving the textures for free. They could have put them behind a paywall.
