Fallout 4 Looks Great!

But why would it be?
As I have said, and not a single person has commented on bar the standard inane fan banter of it will be good "just cause", if it is using an old engine, then the game mechanics can't change either. You can't expect a car much if you keep an old engine in it, the same applies for games.

I'm just going off what the general consensus seems to be. If the guys enjoyed the game mechanics in the previous games, then I'm sure they'll enjoy them in the new game (since they're the same).

People don't like change, so I guess Beth are just rehashing the same formula to appease the masses.

Has it actually been confirmed anywhere that they are using the same engine? I know it looks very similar but the art style of FO3 was done so well that they may just be continuing with that. I didn't think you could do those kinds of lighting effects in the FO3 engine that were shown in the trailer.

And that's why CoD keeps on going on.

No confirmation yet, but the trailer showing God rays, Physics, individual charater animations, Shadows and Weather all point to a new engine possibly HeroEngine, which is probable given the engine addons and support... who knows at this stage, but it's looking more likely to be something other than Gamebryo.

I never got in to Fallout 3, I think something else came along and distracted me.

Just saw that it's available to pre-purchase on Steam for an eye watering £49.99. I think not Bethesda.

And yes, the graphics are important!

Woah, Woah, No common sense allowed when talking about games dude !!! ^_^

I'm 6 hours into Fallout 3 and to be honest I'm still not sold, Quite boring.

Haha! Good to see a few people willing to talk about the game rather than bleat their love for a company.

Tell me about it. The game was ok back then, but all these years later it really is going to have to deliver a lot more than a simple rehash and tiny improvement in graphics.

Hm, from what I can see there is no major physical change in that video. If you're talking about some trolleys moving, that is basic havok which has been around since HL2 and first used by Beth in Obl. But the real question is why have they not used a major engine? Why have they yet again used a basic engine? (I'm putting my money on a mangled Gamebryo engine).

Yeah it's about time 512mb of ram was put to bed.

Gotta admit what they did with that little amount was quite amazing indeed though.
But moving forward we should expect the same thing over time when 8GB of memory on consoles seems tiny.. or anything for that matter
