Fabless chip design company P.A Semi, has released details of their 2 GHz dual-core processor, that they claim is four to five times more power efficient than any other processor in its class. Care to comment? Feel free to do so below...

if a company i have never heard of before can produe a 2 ghz chip that only requires 25watts, WTF cant AMD or INTEL two mainstream chip makers do the same?

Cos they're too busy fighting each other and wasting R&D time by producing chips that just give an extra 50Mhz more than the other guys. They're now racing to see who can fit more cores on a single die

well they are looking for power not efficiency right now... but power wont come with more cores unless there is software that utilizes them

it is good there is another company trying something different... it will make amd and intel make better more efficient and more powerful cores... its a competition and the more competitors makes it better for the consumers

10G has been on fibre since 2002, and was ratified for ethernet over Cat6 (or greater) in September 06 .
