I think it's more around 900 ppd...not really worth the electricity IMO unless you get it free. :\

The PPD is around 1100. Somedays you will have 1004 points and somedays you will have 1255

If it's worth it.. that one is up to you. If you are going for points with minimal electricity (PPD/W) the PS3 is relatively pointless (the newer slimlines being the best out there).

If your just going for the science than by all means let it run.

I think so. Replace the stock cooler (my stock AMD cooler screams like a banshee) with a Cooler Master Hyper 212+. Try Cooler Master SickleFlows or quieter fans. I got 5 of them, and even then, they're barely audible on 12 volts. I get 5K to 6K PPD on my Phenom II X4 955 @ 3.7GHz (I upped the HT & CPU northbridge, helped a lot).

For the PPD, absolutely. I get 4x that for 2 to 3x the power. I got the slimline PS3, too. For the original, it's more like 2x.
