Please someone explain to me this picture.

There seems to be 4 GPUs in Quad SLI. But firstly there isn't a SLI bridge between the pair.

And I thought SLI can only be done with two cards that are 2 GPUs.

Or am I WAY out of date?

You can have 2x sli setups I think.

Wont be quad sli just 2 setups with 2cards each.

There is actually 8gpus there though, as those are GX2s I believe.

So maybe just for show or 2x quad sli setups. Isnt the new one as in that the cores face eachother.

Yeh its definatly the GX2 u can tell by the front where it has the connectors on the 2nd card.

Had 2 GX2s at one point.

Heh, a Gigabyte board. Doesn't surprise me in the least as they're the ones who created that Royal quad-SLI AMD board a while ago that never hit the market just for the hell of it.

Edit: Silly me, it was an Intel board. This one. In fact, that's probably a pic of it in the first post

Looking at the pictures again I think those are the Geforce 7950GTx2.

Heatsinks look familiar.

Yep, thats a mad old pic. It never worked - was just for show.
