Well I have to say firstly that I was mighty impressed with this board.

Best overclock with old board was 263*12

I managed to get this board up to 297*11 100mhz more with less volts and better CPU temps (BIOS read -26degrees versus -13degrees in old) - that was 3dm05 stable ran 3dm03 at 264*12 too.

But while in windows log-on screen it suddenly shut down in the same way a computer shuts down if you switch the power off.

I am considering how to proceed right now but hope to have this resolved shortly.

Supplier has stock arriving a week Wednesday - so may be without until then or I may put the old trusty unit back in the interim.

I might be lucky and start it up tomoz and all will be well - just hope it aint knocked the CPU out too :(

Don't sound good i was looking forward to playing with mine next week now i aint so sure.

The only option available to ya mate is to obtain an RMA under distance selling rule - but you have to do it today to be within 7 days - then buy one fromt eh 2nd batch due into UK this week.

Sorry to hear that m8.

Can i ask what mem divider you were running cos i heard about these boards dyin if you push alot with diff dividers and diff volt between the memory and cpu...

3.65v on BH5 and 1.6v on CPU core, I did use a 166 divider to get 300FSB but thats not when it blew - it blew when I decided to restart the overclocking exercise by starting at stock and pushing til it failed tehn upping the volts then FSb etc..... got to 1.6v and 265*12 then it died :(

If you stumble across any linkies then post em here for review when I get RMA replacement.

Killer Mav

Really sorry to hear that - wonder whether it's just a glitch????

Hearing that makes me kinda glad i went for the Asus.

Hope everything sorts itself out as the last thing you want to be doing is RMA-ing it back to DFI so soon after you got it.....personally i'd do the Distance selling act on it.

I'm sure its just the board that need replacing:) .

Am planning to get one of the second batch in. Getting an extra 100mhz is fantastic, surly this was not all the new mobo's doing, maybe the cpu had burn in more over time allowing for a bit more overclock. I'm sure the board helpeed but can it really push the cpu up a further 100mhz over a assume the standard Dfi NF4 board?

Mav have you come across any of the old cold boot issues with the expert as with the loder boards? This is my main reason for upgrading from an sli-dr and wont bother if the same fault is still present on the expert.
