Be very interesting to see if they bundle 128GB LPDDR6 with the 16C 'Halo' and keep to the €2K mark.
Ref the big boost, calling BS on that. The chips themselves are nippy enough but throttle quickly as they are effectively platform limited. To have a properly speedy system you need to feed the beasts, namely CPU, GPU and NPU and most of this is Gen4 PCIe for your primary storage, nobody has 10gb direct links to the internet and your CPU will get to 5Ghz on a cold day for about 10mins, you're limited to RDNA 3.5 on the GPU which is meh and a NPU that needs voodoo ROCm jiggery pokery to do anything outside of doing some image work, again meh.
So you'll see nice numbers in some benches but in real life f all.
Don't get me wrong, I like these units, I have an AI Max 395+ unit here but it's not the Goldilocks pc. Good edge unit, good POC machine and it'll run some LLM's locally at a good rate without massively killing the bank. Will going from 8 to 14 do anything? Nah. It's a bit like telling the difference between a 4TB Samsung 990 Pro and 4TB Samsung 9100 Pro under Windows, specs say there should be but in reality nada.
