SO guys a while ago I posted a build log for my Foundation build:
http://forum.overclock3d.net/showthread.php?t=48059
It was always a stepping stone to a more permanent build of what I would consider a better build for me.
Recently I have been updating it and stuff. I took some pics of the new case pre-build and after some slight modding but then I totally forgot. So my apologies for that as I know you guys love Photo's of everything.
Spec List:
i7 3770k oc'd 4.8ghz water cooled with XSPC Water block
Asus p8z77 Premium Mobo
Corsair Air 540 case (custom white) With Corsair SP120 quiet edition fans.
Dual Kingston Hyper X 256 SSD's (raid 0)
2 x Gigabyte Windforce GTX 780's (oc edition) Water cooled with XSPC Razor blocks and back plates
16 GB Corsair dominator Platinum 2133mhz (1.5v) (with Light bars)
Corsair AX1200i PSU with white cable set.
Creative x-fi Titanium HD sound card with Logitech Z906 Speaker set.
M65 mouse and g-19 Keyboard.
Primochill Rigid tubing and Ghost fittings.
NZXT Sentry LXE fan controller.
Bitfenix Multi card reader.
Asus 27" 144hz Monitor
But here are pics of it finished. Well as much as It can be, I am thinking maybe a different sound card and some bigger SSD's but other then that I am happy with it.
Corsair air 540 Case. Really Like white cases and emailed corsair to ask about a white one and no go so took the plunge on Powder coating. Vut the HDD bays out the bottom as not needed and blocked up the back and bottom with Di-noc coated Steel. I decided to leave the black plastic parts alone as have seen some painted and are so fragile any knock and it will chip or scratch.
Idle temps are 30-35º general use is 40ºc ish and gaming/full load has hit 70ºc MAX.
The NZXT Sentery does a good job of auto controlling the fans for what I need.
The 2133MHz ram is 1.5v version So no need to overvolt past what I beleive Intel's recommendation.
CPU is on 4.8, I was able to hit 5 and 4.9 but honestly heat and performance sacrifice are not worth it to me. Will maybe even step down to 4.5ghz.
The SSD's in raid 0 give me a nice balance of performance and had no trouble with them as of yet and the External USB 3.0 3 tb HDD is stashed and nice and not noisy.
The Msata SSD on the MObo serves me very little but I may look into installing a different OS on it for dual boot... Maybe.
The Two Gigabyte Windforce GTX 780's are more then enough for anything at the moment as I am only on a 27" playing at 1080p with 144hz. They are factory overclocked versions and I have not felt the need to push them more ...yet. I did try tri sli and quad but the performance gained for the price and noise/heat levels I could not justify, Also in a small case it was just to crowded.
Mayhems x-1 Blue/UV blue Fluid with Primochill Rigid tubing with Ghost fittings as I thought they matched the Di-noc better then the Revolver fittings. Alphacool 50mm width res fits nice tried a few others but they felt just to over whelming in a small case. Lang d5 Vario pump in back hidden and still going strong.
The Corsair ax1200i PSU is over kill but I purchased it before I decided to lose the third and forth GTX 780. But honestly it serves perfect for me as its over powered the fan very rarely spins up so helps keep sound levels down.
One last thing I am looking at is custom Braided cables (white,Blue,Black) as honestly I am really not that impressed with the corsair ones.
Monitor is temporary at the moment as I did have a Nvidia 3d kit and found I was not using it much so will be looking at getting a bigger screen and/or higher resolution.
Anyway guys feedback is always welcome and I am aware I cannot please everyone all the time, but this build was for me... Even though the wife is now eyeing it and I may have to make another one for her or a brand new one for me.
Anything I have left out just ask or point out enjoy and thanks for reading.
