EVGA starts selling all of its GTX 1080 Ti GPUs for $349.99

Way too much for a 3 and a half year old obsolete GPU especially seeing as the 3070, Which will leave it in the dust, Is only $150 more and comes with newer tech like RT and DLSS.

It's not obsolete.

I think it's fantastic for any one with a 580 or what not. Especially if you are a 1080p high FPS gamer who doesn't care about RT etc.

Pascal was one of their best techs, and it shows still in benchmarks. It's still as fast as a 2080.

That phrase, Dice, doesn't exist any more mate. Obsolete. That is what happens when you have a power war dude. Look at CPUs. You can easily still use a 6 year old CPU for gaming. The 1080Ti is still a monster. It can handle 1440p very easily. Case in point? my XP was hitting 120 FPS mins in COD MW easily. How is that ever obsolete?

It depends on your mindset I suppose. If the latest model number means everything to you then yeah, every GPU before it is obsolete. However, as we know in reality that is not the case. Not any more. Buy a decent GPU now and it lasts a whoooole lot longer than the year you would get out of it. Those yearly releases and improvements are gone mate.

1080 Ti is still extremely good for all MOBA games and also for all MMORPG. There are tons of people that play only those games.

In my country used 1080 Tis are 350€. Getting a new one is extra for that money.

I agree the 1080 Ti is still a great GPU but as these are not produced anymore, If these go wrong the chance of you getting a replacement are slim to none and I can't see EVGA giving you a 3000 series card as a replacement.

I still feel stupid for the 2080ti. I mean I had 2 1080ti and the games i enjoyed utilised both.

Plus both looked amazing under water. I just figured for once, I wanted to get the best of the best. Turns out the gaming X trio 2080ti its a true monster. My aim is to create a simulation PC for racing/flight sim and VR and put that one in.

However, I could have happily sailed on with just the 1080s

Exactly. Like I said, if you are into low res high refresh gaming? this is a killer card. At a very good price too, IMO.

The 2080 managed to draw level, and it was what? £600? £700?

Ignoring RT this would be fantastic for PUBG or Fortnite ETC. No one cares about RT in those games. They are not there to look pretty.

I've been doing a bit of PUBG myself. God, I forgot how hard it is to have to literally have eyes in the back of your head LOL.

In the US these are easily priced as the best 1080tis around. The used market is anywhere from $300-$400 and seeing this is under water, it'll easily be the fastest, quietest, and coolest.

That said while it's priced very competitively, doesn't mean it's a good deal considering the near future graphics market shift.

Is that before or after Crypto Miners/Human malware issues force prices into the stratosphere?

You can't blame crypto miners for AMD or Nvidia's appalling disregard for gamers, either dude.

They could have easily stopped people mining on them with a BIOS. The fact they did not, and there were mining bioses made specifically says it all.

Or, am I being negative again? lmao.

Limiting which compute workloads people can and cannot do on a GPU through a bios would have been extremely anti-consumer, What both AMD and Nvidia should've done is limit sales to a max of 2 x cards per household as well as on top of 2 x cards per payment source.

Obviously will never happen but that's what should have happened and what should happen going forward, They'd still sell all of their cards but at least people not doing crypto currency would have a chance at buying a card.

So it was OK when they (Nvidia) limited Furmark because it was quote "A power virus !". Or was it because it showed how bad Fermi was? "quick release the 5 series with a power limiter and the problem vanishes !"

Sorry man I don't agree. They could have stopped it over night. But why would they do that when they are corporate machines based on money?

Fact is we got pushed aside.

Zotac 3070 on website in norway for $600 equiv. Which considering its Norway is on par with what MRRP would be here. And that has nothing to do with price hikes. Its just import tax coverage. Add on 40% of that cost and you have the MRRP here.

Here is another site, for slightly higher. So again on norway terms, its on par with the announcement.
